Who Are We?

Maryville University Esports is a trailblazer in collegiate esports, having been recognized as the Esports Collegiate Program of the Year in 2021. The program features a varsity division, celebrated for winning multiple national championships in games like League of Legends and Overwatch, and a community club that offers a friendly yet competitive gaming environment. Spearheaded by Daniel Clerke, the program not only fosters top-tier competitive talents but also promotes broad student engagement through diverse game offerings and robust community initiatives. Maryville's dedication to excellence is evident in its state-of-the-art training facilities and comprehensive support structures that help students thrive both in competition and academically.

About Our Camps

The Elite Gaming camp is structured to teach Valorant and Overwatch players about building the correct habits both in and out of the game. Each morning focuses on practical concepts for both the game and daily life, covering self-awareness, teamwork, elite communication, brain science, learning techniques, and the impact of health on performance. Afternoons will be dedicated to playing sessions built open these five themes: Communication Structure, Tempo, Macro, Role Tips, and Meta. Students will have take home materials to help incorporate these concepts into their routines.

Meet Your Instructors

Matthew "MCE" Elmore has been a top Valorant coach since the founding of the game. Coaching top VCT teams such as GenG, The Guard, and most recently Cloud 9. MCE has over 10+ years in tactical shooters at the professional and scholastic levels and competing around the world.

Andrew “CKG” Smith was the first player recruited by Maryville Esports and now acts as the Assistant Director of the program. He’s coached the Maryville Overwatch team to multiple National Championships and brings a wealth a knowledge to the game.

Dante “Danteh” Cruz is a former professional Overwatch player, having competed with the Houston Outlaws and the LA Gladiators. With nearly 8 years of experience in professional play and his ability to adapt to various roles and strategies, Danteh makes an excellent camp instructor, inspiring young gamers to excel both individually and as part of a team.

Nick “False” Wiseman is a former professional Overwatch players, recently competing with the Vancouver Titans and Team Canada in the 2023 Overwatch World Cup. A 2 Time National Champion, False is a vocal leader and is well equipped to teach students how to find their voice in game and lead their team to victory.

Parth Naidu is the CEO of SIDO, a research group that studies how people learn and perform through the context of gaming. He is also a former head coach and general manager for TSM's League of Legends division that won an IEM World Championship and 5 LCS titles during his tenure. He developed TSM's performance program including scouting and player development.
